Meet Zhessi!

Zhessi is a young female German Shepherd with an incredible nose, a resilient spirit, and a heart that’s eager to connect. Like Jasmine, she is one of the dogs we were able to rescue from the war in Ukraine. The instability and chaos of her early life left her with some fear-based behaviors, but Zhessi’s sweetness and willingness to try shine through in everything she does.

Zhessi is good with male and female dogs and is wonderful with children. She’s affectionate, gentle, and thrives when she feels safe and understood.

When it comes to work, Zhessi is exceptional — she has been imprinted on narcotics and demonstrates a naturally strong detection ability. Her nose is truly remarkable, and she excels in focused search work. She does, however, struggle with environmental stressors, so she will need a handler or adopter willing to support her confidence as she continues to grow.

Her obedience is also impressive. Zhessi performs off-leash heel, sit, down, stay, and come with clarity and reliability, showing just how intelligent and trainable she is.

Zhessi would thrive in a home or program that appreciates her talent while providing the structure, patience, and calm environment she needs to flourish. With the right match, she will make an extraordinary companion — whether for family life, further training, or a combination of both.
